Is He Still Alive?

That was the question my mom posed to my dad when I answered his phone call on Thursday. Some of you loyal blog readers (all one of you) were probably wondering the same thing. Well, work has been stressful lately and that’s all I want to say about that.

This past weekend was a lot of fun! Friday night was the 2nd Annual Crusade Barn Party. The only place that 50 gallon drum tied up between 4 trees with 8 garage door springs can be considered cool. A semi flat bed trailer hauls in bales of hay and then doubles as a stage for a full bluegrass band. Let us not forget the clogging team nor the line dance/ two step caller. Needless to say, a good time was had by all. Check out the photos in the gallery.

After only 3 hrs of sleep, I got back up to go help out with the Crusade tailgate. Thankfully NC State pulled out a win on Homecoming weekend over So. Miss. That evening we threw Mark (my roommate) a birthday party for he turned 25!! We had a lot of fun and thanks for those that came to celebrate with us.

Well that’s a brief synopsis of the weekend with I’m sure more excitement to come. My good friends Mike and Erica are coming into town this next weekend, so I’m looking forward to some fun times.

“Divine Obsession”

Blessed Weekend

This past weekend was spent with the Providence College Ministry up at Camp Oak Hill in Oxford, NC. The camp was gorgeous! Lots of fun to be had playing football, riding the zip-line, canoeing, fishing, etc. More importantly however was the amazing messages that were brought to us by Dr. David Nelson and Peter Rochelle.

The theme of the weekend was “Divine Obsession”. As Dr. Nelson worded it:

a compulsive preoccupation with the beautiful, triune God

Wow, what a concept! I really feel that the nearly 90 college students that were there really gained some unique perspective on God and His character; I know I did.

Hopefully the talks will be made available online, and when they are, I’ll let all of you diligent readers know. For now, you’ll have to entertain yourselves with the photos of the retreat over in the gallery.

Lego Church

My housemate Mark sent an email to me containing the following photos of a church built entirely out of Legos. I did some searching and here’s the site of the builder, documenting the construction and displaying many more photos of the structure.

A Week that Flew By

No worries, hopefully the blog will not turn into an every Monday sort of thing. Last week, I was anticipating a slow, leisurely stroll. You see, Thursday and Friday were Fall Break for students at NCSU and I knew campus would be quiet so I would get tons of work done! Well, campus was quiet but almost too quiet. It was eerie! Thursday afternoon my boss told me I should save some gas and “work from home” on Friday. Thanks boss man!
