Our Hope, Our Promise
Starting on Friday night, Providence Baptist church will be presenting their Christmas program, Our Hope, Our Promise. I won’t go into many details, because I don’t want to spoil it for those who are attending, but it is going to be amazing! The past few nights, practices and rehearsals have occurred. Sunday and Monday night the members of the tech/production team gathered to run through the songs, scenarios, etc. To see the focus, skill, and dedication of each of these members is a great encouragement to me! Even when things get stressful, and nerves get pushed I can still feel the love of Christ in each and everyone of them. I’m so blessed to be a part of such a team.
Last night was a full dress rehearsal. The entire choir, orchestra, drama, and tech teams came together. We ran through the show twice and after leaving the church at 12:30 AM this morning, I’m exhausted! My duties for this program is to multi-track record the show. What does that mean? I sit in the “bat cave” as it’s been coined, with this big Roland 24-trk Digital Workstation, a mouse, keyboard, and monitor to aid in its use. I’m then accompanied by 3 stacked DVD-Recorders, monitors and switchers for viewing those feeds, oh and of course my pretty PowerBook to aid in notes, following the tech sheet, etc. Fun part about the Bat Cave is that it is really a chair storage closet, so there are the lovely cream and green chairs stacked all up around me. I’ll try to post some pictures tonight of the cave.
All I really want is a famulus (thanks Nate), to say “Come Robin, to the Bat Cave!”
