Go ahead, sound the trumpets and pull out the tar and feathers. I haven failed at my blogging endeavors. Honestly, life has just been way busy lately!
The wedding planning is going well and I’m nearly ready to launch our wedding website! It has been an up and down process, going through several potential developers and then finally landing back on my shoulders. Unfortunately none of the “free wedding websites” met my requirements:
- Doesn’t look circa early 2000 web
- Standards Based
- Not Ugly (see first bullet)
So I set out to build something myself. While I consider myself an adept PHP/HTML/CSS developer I do not consider myself a designer. Sure, I can tweak user interface elements and offer suggestions on spacing, placement, etc but as far as sitting down in Photoshop or Illustrator and building a cohesive site layout – yeah not my strongest area. Â Thankfully, I kept the site design simple and borrowed from our wedding invitations to help tie everything together. I’ll make a post when it is ready to go live.
