Lake Baptism

My church has an annual lake baptism service out at Falls Lake north of Raleigh. Last year was the first year I attended and I promised myself that I would make it again this year! I was able to snag some awesome photos last year and willingly waded out into the lake with camera in hand to take some more photos.

Impact 2008

This past week I had the amazing experience of getting to serve middle and high school students at my church’s annual camp - Impact. Back in January or February the Lord laid on my heart to help with this camp and serve in a tech and A/V capacity. I wasn’t really approached by anyone in particular but the need was main known as I viewed what little footage and recordings there were of previous years.

The Lord begin to paint a picture for me of one ministry area serving another ministry area with our own special gifts and talents - a picture of the body of Christ. How could I not listen to God?!?!?!?

While the week was exhausting, I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Not only did I have an opportunity to serve the King but I got to serve my brothers and sisters in Christ using the gifts God has given me.

I encourage you to check out http://impactcamp.wordpress.com for the blog posts we made during camp as well as get access to some photos I posted while at camp to help connect those back home with the students at camp.

More photos and details to come about Impact 2008.

Adore & Tremble

On Friday night a good friend of mine, Daniel Renstrom, release his solo debut: Adore & Tremble. Daniel is the College Ministry Director at Providence Baptist Church and is one of several worship leaders at the church. It has been an amazing honor to work with Daniel, get to know him better, and see him grow as an artist. I highly recommend you check out his album at his web site - Daniel Renstrom - Adore & Tremble. You can also check out some of the photos I snagged at his release party below and a few more in the gallery.

Rescue Filming

Last weekend I had the awesome opportunity to work with some very talented folks from my church on filming for this year’s Christmas program, Lost in the Mountains Rescue. Last Saturday we rented out one of the SAS studios for 10 hrs and setup and filmed non-stop for most of the day.

We then continued the round of excitement by visiting New Hope Fire Station in Wendell, NC (just north of Raleigh) where one of our tech team guys, Phil, is a fire fighter. He and some of his boys pulled out some fire trucks, suited up and let us film to add even more realism to our shoot. Not to mention the fact that Phil fed us before we got to filming ;-).

My only regret is not getting in on this last photo but someone had to take the picture, right? Maybe some creative Photoshop work can be employed . . .

Leaving on a Jet Plane . . .

At least I know that I’ll be back on April 19th. I’m headed to Las Vegas on Saturday with several guys from Providence (my church) for NAB 2007 - “The World’s Largest Electronic Media Show”. Several members of our media team staff go each year to get ideas on new technologies and innovations in broadcasting, audio engineering, video editing, and lighting. This is the first year I’ve been so I’m very excited. Perhaps if I have time while out there I’ll write about a few of the cool things I’ll hopefully see. Let us also hope for some cool photos to document the trip.
