This past weekend was spent with the Providence College Ministry up at Camp Oak Hill in Oxford, NC. The camp was gorgeous! Lots of fun to be had playing football, riding the zip-line, canoeing, fishing, etc. More importantly however was the amazing messages that were brought to us by Dr. David Nelson and Peter Rochelle.
The theme of the weekend was “Divine Obsession”. As Dr. Nelson worded it:
a compulsive preoccupation with the beautiful, triune God
Wow, what a concept! I really feel that the nearly 90 college students that were there really gained some unique perspective on God and His character; I know I did.
Hopefully the talks will be made available online, and when they are, I’ll let all of you diligent readers know. For now, you’ll have to entertain yourselves with the photos of the retreat over in the gallery.
No worries, hopefully the blog will not turn into an every Monday sort of thing. Last week, I was anticipating a slow, leisurely stroll. You see, Thursday and Friday were Fall Break for students at NCSU and I knew campus would be quiet so I would get tons of work done! Well, campus was quiet but almost too quiet. It was eerie! Thursday afternoon my boss told me I should save some gas and “work from home” on Friday. Thanks boss man!
