Been a While

Well I know it has been a long time since I’ve updated the blog area but well life has just been crazy busy! As of September 30th I’m now a home owner! With my former roommate, Mark, getting married this coming weekend I had to find a new place to live. The Lord blessed me with the opportunity to buy my own place instead of continuing to rent.

There are many more photos where this one came from over in the gallery.

This past weekend, I was invited out on the lake for one more day of wake boarding before the temperature just got too ridiculously cold! The guys still wore wetsuits and I was able to snag some pretty cool photos including Josh landing a 360 back roll!

Again you can check all of these and more out in the photo gallery or on Flickr.

Two Week Update

Appears that I’m on a two week update cycle as of late. Past few weeks have been pretty busy both with work and personal life. They haven’t exactly lent themselves to placing me in a mood to share what was going on in my life. Needless to say - God has once again proven Himself victorious and supreme over all that Satan may try to throw at Him and us as His children.

GMail SSL Feature

My friend John shot this article: Why You Should Turn Gmail’s SSL Feature On Now over to me this morning about GMail’s new SSL feature. SSL is a level of security that encrypts communication over the internet. It is most easily identified by the https:// in the browser URL as opposed to http://. This SSL feature is important especially on open wireless networks (Starbucks, Random open location, NCSU’s wireless network, etc) where anyone could be sniffing your traffic.

To TURN ON SSL Encryption for the GMail Webapp:

  1. Sign in to Gmail
  2. Click Setting at the top of any Gmail page
  3. Set ‘Browser Connection to ‘Always use https.’
  4. Click Save Changes
  5. Reload Gmail

Return for the “lord of the wake”

This past Thursday marked the end of a 6 week ordeal for my good buddy Shem. You see, six weeks ago Shem was out wake boarding before we left for Impact. Upon landing face first into the water, he came up with blood running from his eye. Upon inspection from a doctor, he had cut a 10mm incesion into the outer layer of his eye. His course of treatment? Six weeks of no strenuous activity - ie. 6 weeks with no wake boarding.

With the end of this ordeal - we returned to the same lake, on the same boat to mark the joyful end of Shem’s infirmity.

Mark also got his first shot at wake boarding on Saturday and did amazingly well!

Of course, a sampling of the photos from the rest of the day can be found in the Wakeboarding gallery. I hope to be adding some more photos later this week as I get a chance to go through them.
