New Job

Now that it has been relayed to the necessary people I can announce that I got a new job! I will still be working for the university, however I will now be working for another group on campus as the Coordinator of Student Owned Computing for the College of Engineering; a mouthful I know.

I start my new job on May 1st and I’m so very excited for the opportunity that God has opened before me.

Shelly Moore Band at Joyful Noise

This past weekend I went home to visit the family for the Easter holiday. It also happened that my good friends, Shelly Moore and Mike Passaro (Shelly Moore Band) were playing in near by Gastonia, NC at a place called Joyful Noise.

I received a phone call on Friday afternoon asking if I could come lend a hand and be their sound tech for the evening, just to make sure nothing crazy happened. After a little coaxing to make sure my mom didn’t think her “baby” was just running off - I headed out to lend a hand.

The acoustically driven concert was awesome and it was a nice intimate time with a small group of people. The sound demands weren’t taxing at all so I was able to snag a few photos of Shelly and Mike as they praised God. You can see the full album in my Flickr based gallery.

Johari Window

Thanks to reading Brian’s Pink Blog, I learned about this neat little experiment: a Johari window. If you wouldn’t mind, take a minute or two and pick five or six words that you think describe me. You can be anonymous if you are afraid to tell me the truth :-p.

Have You Had Your Water Today?

While for many people this is a no brainer, but I’ve always had a big problem drinking water. I’ve been addicted to coffee, soft drinks, and everything in between. Well, I’ve decided that while I can’t totally cut those drinks out for fear of severe headaches, what I can do is make sure that I drink two full nalgenes of water a day. This is just the start in a new routine for something that I strongly feel the Lord calling me to complete.

Thanks to my friends and family for encouraging me and for those little texts asking “Have you had your water today?”.

IE 8 and the DOCTYPE Switch

Today, an excellent article was published by Aaron Gustafson at A List Apart. His article discusses the ever changing practice of developing in a standards based word for the World Wide Web. Now I know for some of my readers out there this will matter very little - however for those of you interested, I encourage you to take in just a little of the discussions that surround the web.
