Favorite OS X Software

For most people that read my blog, they know I’m an avid Mac user. I’m not going to get into a Windows vs. OS X debate here but I wanted to start sharing a few of my favorite OS X software packages for those readers who are also Mac users. I know there are a...

Get a Mac Commercials

Apple has released a new set of Get a Mac commercials comparing a PC to a Mac. They talk about several of the issues surrounding the advantages that Macs have over PCs. Now before I start getting flamed – I just think these are funny. I’m not touting Mac superiority, I think PCs have their...

Awesome commercial! Is there anything that Apple doesn’t do well? For those of you who have yet to come over to the light, Macs are superior. And, the commercial says it all! Once you go Mac you never go back! Thanks Jason for giving those PC users some hope! I’m just glad that I don’t have to reboot every 5 minutes. Hey, someone actually makes a product that works! What do you know!!

Did you catch this from Digg? The comments are going crazy over there!

i dont even know where to start with nathan’s pc bashing. maybe we should look at apple’s stable OS. wait, they got that from linux. right. must be the hardware. wait… intel. oh my? where did apple go? i think the comparison isnt mac vs. pc, but osx vs. windows. i mean… who is going to say windows is that great? 10 bucks says they programmed it on linux.

Jason - May 2, 2006 - 4:43 pm

Travis for one, Apple didn’t get it from Linux they actually got it from UNIX and BeOS which is a bit different than Linux – get your facts straight :-p. Second I think Mac vs. PC is a fair comparison because no matter what hardware you put inside of a Mac, the heart, the soul, the blood that pushes life along is OS X. Now yes – its strength is built from UNIX but its beauty, ease of usability, and the down right ability to work – well that is all from Apple.

Pricing a Project

I found this article today and it is very good on the ins and outs of pricing a web project. I know most of my readers aren’t necessarily developers, however, if you ever plan to hire a company to build a website for you or your organization this might help you understand why prices are...

Is this a hint? Haha

Jason - April 29, 2006 - 6:39 pm

No Kate, no hint just thought it was a really good article. The one thing the formula doesn’t take into account is when you are doing work for friends or family. Guess that is why they say “never do business with family (or friends)”.

Boot Camp

Some of my more tech savvy readers may have heard last week about Apple’s Boot Camp announcement. This beta software provided by Apple allows an owner of one of the new Intel based Mac computers to repartition their harddrive, install Windows XP, and successfully offer a dual-boot environment on one machine. You can have your...

Ah yes! Once again Apple is showing its superior ability to destroy the competition. I had already heard about it, and wished that I had a new powerbook.

This will be a crushing blow to the PC world, and it will only have to boost Apple’s sales. Go Apple!

Brian Megilligan - April 18, 2006 - 2:57 pm

Boot Camp is cool and all, but I’d like to see them come up with the ability to switch between OSs on the fly–and I don’t mean virtual pc. Now THAT would be slick.
The A-B comparison of the two side by side would reveal the extreme graphical deficiencies of XP!! :)
